La Caravane d’Utrecht

In the summer of 2015 the start of the Tour de France was located in Utrecht. To celebrate this event the municipality of Utrecht initiated La Caravane d’Utrecht; a procession trough the city centre with hundreds of costumed participants.

A delegation of different citizens of Utrecht was present, among which were also refugee kids from the local asylum centers. This part was organized by Safari Utrecht, and I was asked to do the project management. We developed workshops in the asylum centers so the 40 kids could make their own music and costumes to show in the parade. It was a wonderful celebration, and I was honored to be able to facilitate something meaningful in the uncertain lives of these kids.
